Leonardo named Large Employer of the Year at Skills Development Scotland 2015 Modern Apprenticeships Awards
On 18 November, Leonardo was named 'Large Employer of the Year' at Skills Development Scotland's 2015 Modern Apprenticeships Awards (MAA), for its "exceptional commitment to the Modern Apprenticeship programme".
The company has been delivering apprenticeship programmes for over 60 years, and currently has 50 engineering, craft and business Modern Apprentices, with a further 32 young people being recruited this year.
Leonardo University Liaison and Emerging Technologies Manager, Allan Colquhoun, said: "Modern Apprentices bring new ideas and enthusiasm and are encouraged to be innovative. We want them to contribute and challenge."
There was further MAA success for the company, when Ross Herbert was named runner-up in the Higher Level Apprentice of the Year category, recognising his dedication and commitment to the Modern Apprenticeship route of career progression.
