When did you choose to join Leonardo?

I chose to join Leonardo because of the international profile of the company. I aspire to have an international career and felt that the company’s profile matched my goals.

What is your current position at Leonardo?

I’m approaching the end of my first year on the graduate scheme. I work primarily within the International Government Business Unit, but am currently doing an external placement in Customer Support. My roles and responsibilities within each placement are diverse and challenging. Currently I’m managing the warranty process for our Algerian Mk140 SL300 Fleet, interfacing with the customer and undertaking a wide range of functions at the company’s Helicopter Division in Yeovil to achieve a rapid solution to any issues which prevail.

Tell us about your typical week

A typical week on the graduate scheme involves a range of activities and tasks. In my current placement there are usually a range of customer queries to be addressed, alongside other warranty claims to be managed as they travel through the necessary process. Daily roles such as these are carried out alongside longer term projects and HR-related development workshops.

What do you like most about your job?

My favourite part of my job is the daily variation within my job role. Every day provides new encounters and experiences which keep the role interesting and challenging, especially now that I am interfacing with a customer regularly. The scheme specifically has provided me with development opportunities which have complemented my job role and personal objectives.

What has been your biggest achievement so far?

My biggest achievement so far involved managing the composition of a bid which then went on to be a winning tender. This was something I’m very proud of.

What do you hope to do next?

After finishing the scheme, I’m hoping to choose a position within the company which will allow me to continue to learn and develop both personally and professionally, with the objective of building an international management career with a wide scope of responsibilities.
