In the UK, Leonardo has a rich heritage in Electronic Warfare boasting over 100 years of history and providing the latest advances in radio frequency technology to our military customers in the UK and further afield.

Leonardo leads the consortium responsible for the Praetorian Defensive Aids Sub-System (DASS) currently installed on the Eurofighter Typhoon and the  company's BriteCloud expendable active decoy launched in 2013, represents the most significant advance in radar-guided missile countermeasures since the advent of chaff.

As part of Team Tempest, which is developing a Next Generation Combat Air System capable of operating in the 2040+ environment, Leonardo will be responsible for all-aspect broadband Electronic Warfare capabilities on the new platform.

Leonardo is a Eurofighter Typhoon consortium partner, providing the Royal Air Force with its multi-role combat air capability. We are responsible for delivering over 60% of the aircraft’s on-board avionics including leading the consortia that develop both the Radar and Defensive Aid Sub-System.
