Spring arrived with the announcement that a 400m PLN (€90m) offset agreement had been signed between Leonardo and the Polish Ministry of National Defence for establishing critical in-country maintenance capabilities and preceding a contract for the supply of AW101 military helicopters.

Space technology took centre stage later in April when we hosted a UK-France space collaboration at our Southampton site to mark delivery of the first sensor package for an exciting new global weather forecasting technology. The Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer New Generation (IASI-NG) programme is a partnership between Leonardo, Airbus Defence & Space, the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) and the UK Space Agency.

We were delighted to be a part of the inaugural Scottish Cyber Week as we attended Cyber UK 2019 where, alongside our partners in the Secure Chorus-led workshop, we discussed building a multi-brand ecosystem of communication apps which are interoperable and secure by design.
