Apprentices visit Houses of Parliament to discuss the value of their experiences in industry

14 May 2019

A cross-site team of our apprentices including Mark Ovens, Callum Rogers, Ben Bayliss and Scott Leslie, along with Graduate Project Manager Emily Tithecotte, yesterday attended an ADS parliamentary reception at the Houses of Parliament, to share their first-hand accounts of how their apprenticeships have shaped them as professionals.

Accompanied by Philip Pratley, Director International Affairs, and Mark Gunning, Leonardo UK’s Head of Digital Communications, our team formed part of a delegation of around 100 apprentices attending from all over the country. This regional spread meant over 65 MPs attended the reception, as well as five Government ministers.

Our apprentices were able to demonstrate to the MPs how our investment in their talent had helped our business progress. Commenting on the apprentices' important contribution to the discussions with MPs, Philip said: "As several said at the time, it reminded them of the significance of future business priorities. When you asked them about their view on important areas for investment, the answer "people" was instinctive and genuine."

Congratulations to all of our Leonardo team members who did such a brilliant job of representing our organisation.
