Trust in Engineering

22 November 2018

What are the ingredients for choosing a particular career? Contributing to society? Fulfilment? Salary? Work-life balance? Travel opportunities? Or perhaps it’s being recognised as a trusted individual?

According to the 2018 Ipsos MORI Veracity Index published on 19 November 2018, engineers are the fourth most trusted professionals, after nurses, doctors and teachers. 87% of the British public said they would trust engineers to tell the truth, with trust particularly high among those with degree-level qualifications (91%).

Here at Leonardo, we have a range of engineering opportunities around the UK, from early careers through to highly experienced engineers. If you’re currently studying – at school, college or university – check out the dozens of engineering apprenticeships, graduate roles, industrial internships and summer placements we are offering for 2019.

These include practical apprenticeships building and maintaining helicopters and designing and developing industry-leading radar and laser systems, opportunities to study to degree level within software and cyber security engineering, two-year graduate engineering programmes and 6-12 month engineering internships.

On each of these programmes, you would be working on real life projects alongside experienced and highly trusted engineers across our business, developing your own knowledge and skills and establishing yourself as a member of one of the UK’s most trusted professions.
