AgustaWestland, a Finmneccanica company, has been awarded contracts worth a total of about EUR 128 million by different customers for the supply of 17 helicopters for both government and commercial roles.

In particular, the Philippine Air Force signed a contract for eight AW109 Power helicopters, also including initial logistics support and training for aircrew and maintenance personnel. These aircraft will be used for homeland security missions.

Furthermore, AgustaWestland secured contracts for 9 commercial helicopters with customers who will operate these units in UK and Italy. Specifically, Avincis Group ordered two AW189s for offshore operations in UK, plus one AW139 and two AW169s which will be used for emergency medical services in Sicily.
